This is how I organize my embroidery floss in my sewing studio, another use for flower vases!

About Kendra

I have always been interested in sewing and crafting. Having a few different areas of focus allow me to be creative and inspired with a variety of mediums. A few years ago I started making the fabric coiled baskets. The first few that I made were simple and round. They quickly evolved in size and shape, some with the addition of a wooden base to allow for more functionality and visual interest. Not much later, my focus shifted to the tile coasters. They allowed me to stretch my creativity by imagining what would best suit others decor. My imagination is really my only limitation.
While in New Orleans this spring I saw a canvas bag and was inspired to begin sewing again, a passion that I had set aside for many years. I love designing these bags. Reversely sewn seams give the bags the feel of having been used and loved for years. They speak to ones personality.
Special orders give me the most enjoyment. Knowing the person I am creating for is very fulfilling. As long as I am being creative and productive I am happy.
Recently I've begun making quilted and appliqued wall hangings. My inspiration comes from pictures or images I've seen in the past.
Finally, I think I have found a truly delightful art to do - Rebots. Creating these Rebots allow me to use my imagination and have fun when planning which item will look best with another item. I've always enjoyed flea markets and this is an amazing outlet for that activity. I never know what I'll find. Sometimes I see something that is truly amazing but I have no idea what I'll do with it!
